Art in the community at Christmas
In the run up to Christmas, Bicester Art Network brought together 20 artists for their Christmas Art Fair.
Cinch Self Storage kindly provided the venue, and the artists used the lower floor to hang over 500 works of art.
The space is unusual for an art exhibition, but it works! There is alway great lighting and the sides of the white containers offer a fantastic backdrop for the art and pictures being showcased.
It was great to have all the artists there at the exhibition, a great time to catch up with each others news and plans for the festive season.

It also gave some their first experience exhibiting their art, which is one of Bicester Art Network's core reasons for being. It was great to see such an ecclectic mix of styles and genres, we literally have everything from watercolour pictures to silk scarves and everything inbetween.
The work that our local artists put into their exhibits shines through, with hours of concentration and buckets of raw talent always impresses visitors and artist alike. Many artists are inspired by local scenes and the natural world, but emotion and personal cirmumstances also resenates through their work. Get chatting to an artist and you find the 'story behind' the art, often amusing and somtimes challenging, but always genuine.
Bicester Art Newtork started in 2019 following the founders enagagement with Oxfordshire Artweeks as an area coordinator, a role he continues to cherish. With over 20 Bicester based exhibitions in the past 6 years, including their annual Artweeks events, has brought together a beautiful art community who have thrived of the social and artistic interactions, with many becoming friends.
